Power Coating (Thermal Solutions)
Power coatings relate to engines/motors (cars, snowmobiles, motorcycles): almost anything with a combustion engine. Some hold heat where it's needed. Others remove unwanted heat. Some are used to reduce friction on metal-to-metal contact, while others shed lubricants. All of them increase horsepower.
Piston Coatings
Piston Coatings are formulated to provide a thermal barrier for piston domes, for corresponding combustion chambers, and valve faces. This specialized formulation withstands detonation impact while reducing surface temperatures and does not affect tolerances or compression ratios, increasing combustion chamber efficiency while increasing horsepower and part life expectancy.
Solid Film Lubricants
Designed to withstand high temperatures and extreme pressures, it is capable of lubrication at 350,000 PSI. This coating, lubricated, acts as an anti-seize agent while preventing galvanic corrosion and resisting wear. Impregnated into the surface of the metal, you realize no dimensional change. Solid film lubricant is formulated to prevent surface-to-surface contact, thus reducing friction and wear between mating surfaces.
Ceramic Alloy Exhaust Coatings
There are a variety of reasons to coat an exhaust manifold header: corrosion protection, header life, improved performance, and appearance. The coating, a thermal barrier, keeps heat within the system. By retaining the heat, exhaust gases are accelerated. This reduces backpressure and prevents thermal shock to the valves. It also lowers the under-hood operating temperatures. Stock colors include Satin Jet Black, Titanium, and Satin Silver.
Thermal Barrier Coatings
The thermal barrier coating process provides:
- Superior thermal barrier protection for internal use on exhaust systems
- Heat transfer reduction
- Shielding as a base coat under certain high temperature applications
Thermal barrier coatings are formulated to maintain adhesion at temperatures above the normal operating range of an exhaust system and to reduce heat movement. Thermal barrier coatings increase performance and horsepower by increasing heat scavenging during the exhaust cycle.
